Make the call

If you see a bear in the Whistler area, please call 604-905-BEAR (2327) immediately. Note the physical description of the bear (colour (body and muzzle, chest patch?), size (height of the bear's back or head compared to you), the bear's location and its behavior.

It's extremely important that residents and visitors report every bear sighting to local conservation officers. This will allow them to respond immediately and, if necessary, deliver aversive conditioning or other management strategies that can help bears stay out of trouble.

If bears are allowed to roam through Whistler with impunity, they will be more likely to develop bad habits that compromise the safety of both people and bears. Please help us and call in any bear sightings today!
